About me
Alright so this is my shpeel about who I am and why you may want to listen to what I have to say.
Ok first I'm a tech professional. I've been designing enterprise PKI solutions for about 7 years now, before that I was everything from a tech support phone jockey to a senior network admin at an ISP. I started using computers at 8, that's when my folks brought home a shiny new Tandy TRS-80 Color Computer III w/ a whopping 16k of ram. That Tandy was also when I started coding, started with Basic and then made the jump to ASM (big jump I know). After I was decent in Basic and passable in ASM I moved to C, after writing ASM, C is almost like moving back to Basic :). Did my first hardware upgrade at 13, added a Sound Blaster 16 sound card + CD-ROM to my beloved 486. Built my first machine at 15 and have built every computer I've used since. That about covers my tech background I guess.
Aside from computers my next love is shiny things with flashing lights. I love my gadgets. Can't get enough of them. I've got more useless stuff laying around the house that I bought only because it looked cool to start my own store. I buy them mostly to see what I can make them do. I pull them apart, see what's inside and see what I can turn it into. My hardware fetish started in high school when I discovered 2600 magazine and a couple of other "underground" zines and BBS boards with all kinds of info on how to make ordinary items do stuff like give you free pay phone calls. I moved away from the phreaking pretty quick and moved on to a just making cool stuff phase. Now I just do some personal projects occasionally, don't have much time to really hack hardware with the work schedule I have.
I'm a huge fan of almost any type of music. My current aural passions are SynthPop, Nerdcore and Bubblegum Punk (the popish girl punk, not the crap Avril Lavinge tries to pass off as punk but the local club kinda chick rock). I'm addicted to Freezepop, Rocket, The Mechanical Dolls and a couple of other bands, I will keep my music link page updated with all the new groups I find.
On top of my other afflictions interests I'm also a video game addicts. I always have my DS with me and if I'm not in the middle of something you'll find me playing a game of Puzzle Quest or Mario Kart or New Super Mario Bros. or Final Fantasy III or ... I'll just leave it at that, my shame is becoming too great.
That about sums me up. In the words of Descartes "I am what I am".... or was that Popeye? Oh well. If you can't get the type of person I am from this just take a look at what I blog. Looking at what people put on the net is usually a good reflection of what someone is into.
